Well, it’s done, we had a picture perfect day with the weather and I just returned from our big fundraising walk. I wanted to let you all know that you were part of something really, really big and also that because of you we had our most successful walk to date. The Walk will begin at J.C. Saddington Park with a rose vigil for the women who have lost their lives in Peel Region due to gender-based violence in the past ten years. Participants will make their way to the Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens, the site of Interim Place’s original safe haven, which was established in 1981. There we will remember the over 43,000 women and children who have walked through our doors, or accessed our services, in the past 38 years. We will also honour and reflect on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women across Canada.
