8th Annual Walk Steps to End Violence Against Women Walk

Well, it’s done, we had a picture perfect day with the weather and I just returned from our big fundraising walk. I wanted to let you all know that you were part of something really, really big and also that because of you we had our most successful walk to date. Thank you so much to those of you who sponsored me for Interim Place’s 8th Annual Steps to End Violence Against Women Walk. I feel very fortunate to participate in this event. I cannot thank you enough for your support it means so much to me, I hope I can count on you again next year. Will Egerton 08/25/2019

“I am proud to be a male ally and to continue to support Interim Place and the great work they do year after year. This year, Wecon will again be participating in the annual fundraiser on August 25, 2019. This is a great way to get out and enjoy some fresh air while raising some much-needed funds to support our cause. Will Egerton 07/16/2019

Join us on the path to a future without violence against women at Interim Place’s 8th Annual Steps to End Violence Against Women Walk. The Steps to End Violence Against Women Walk invites all who live, play, and work in Peel Region to join us to demonstrate your commitment to ending violence against women and girls in our community. Whether you’re looking for a corporate team building experience, a group outing, or an opportunity to get outside and have fun with the family, this event is for you.

Attendees of the Steps To End Violence Against Women Walk will enjoy entertainment, a chance to win exciting giveaways, fabulous prizes for top fundraisers, and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of women in our community. This is a family-friendly and dog-friendly event, and we encourage all members of our community to join us and step forward to end violence against women. Whether as an individual or part of a team, register today and join us as we walk to raise money in support of Interim Place and the women and children we serve.

The Walk will begin at J.C. Saddington Park with a rose vigil for the women who have lost their lives in Peel Region due to gender-based violence in the past ten years.  Participants will make their way to the Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens, the site of Interim Place’s original safe haven, which was established in 1981. There we will remember the over 43,000 women and children who have walked through our doors, or accessed our services, in the past 38 years.  We will also honour and reflect on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women across Canada.

Let’s step up for women!
