Preventative Maintenance a Key Component of Successful Equipment Operation

One of the most overlooked aspects of a material handling system is its long-term care and maintenance. Regular preventive maintenance on systems is important because it helps ensure equipment is running at peak efficiency, safely. It also helps decrease the chance of unplanned downtime caused by a breakdown, which results in loss of production and money.

Wecon Systems knows this, so the Mississauga, Ont.-based conveyor equipment and systems specialist has developed a solution — tailored maintenance and service packages to suit the needs of its customers’ conveyor systems.

WE-Care Preventative Maintenance

Wecon’s WE-Care Preventative Maintenance solution covers any brand of conveyor equipment. The company has the capability to provide off-the-shelf replacement parts or to custom make parts to replace older, non-standard parts.

There are three different maintenance plans to choose from to suit the varying needs of the company’s customers in any industry.

  • The PMI package, which stands for “Preventative Maintenance Inspection”, includes a complete evaluation of each individual conveyor. Wecon’s experienced staff will document wear and tear on all parts, and provide the customer with repair options.
  • The PMR-1 package, which stands for “Preventative Maintenance Repair Level 1”, includes a complete evaluation of each individual conveyor. Like the PMI option, this level documents and reports wear and tear on all parts, but it also includes minor repair within a pre-set monetary amount. In addition, customers will receive repair options for major repairs.
  • The PMR-2 package, which stands for Preventative Maintenance Repair Level 2, includes the complete evaluation of each individual conveyor, as well as the documenting and reporting of wear and tear on all parts; however, this level also includes repair using the customers’ spare parts inventory. In addition, Wecon will maintain the customer’s spare parts inventory.
